In an effort to hold myself more accountable for my spending, I decided to tally up all my purchases this year. This is mostly from reviewing online orders but also memory as well. After doing this exercise I was kind of…surprised at how much this ended up being because I know for a FACT that this is significantly and by orders of magnitude less than what I spent last year, especially after actually visiting South Korea. I’ve also included mini reviews of all the products and whether I plan to repurchase.

January: $188
Biossance 100% Squalane Oil, $58
I really started out liking this product and have been using it since January. I originally got a sample size in a free gift from Sephora. I like the feeling of an oil to seal everything in at the end of my routine. However towards the end of May, I began feeling like there wasn’t as much added value for the cost. I’d rather find an inexpensive rosehip oil on Amazon I think.
Sojeong Skin Therapy Brightening Facial, $130 (including tip)
February: $239
This razor work well for sensitive skin and easy super easy to clean out. I don’t think it gets as close of a shave as the Panasonic one I’d used for a few years but I’ve not had any issues with skin irritation or discomfort. I’ve noticed that I do need to hold my skin somewhat in place (not pulling) to get a better angle. Ideal for touchups around the sides of the face a moustachio area but not so much the stubborn areas on my jawline.
Dorco Tinkle 3 PCS Eyebrow or Face Hair Removal Safety Razors Trimmer Shaper Shaver cosmetics , $4.33
I purchase these in packs of 3 or 5 from Amazon and local markets in Little Tokyo by my house. These are definitely holy grail when needing to get stubborn jawline hair as well as keeping my rogue hairline in check LOL
Sojeong Hydrating Facial, $120 (including Tip)
Curology, $40 (2 month supply)
I should probably do a separate post on my Curology experience but in short I feel like it’s been a good investment/consolidation of needing to use AHA and BHA. It may be a contributing factor to the natural glow I now possess.
107 Coreflex Cream Essence, $54.50
This mini review from my 2017 Favorites post still stands. I feel like 107 as a brand is definitely the proprietor of alot of my HG products. I’m looking forward to testing the vinegar product as well
March: $125
Random Little Tokyo Haul, $60
On this trip, I bought some razors, decanting bottles, ramen, snacks and gifts for friends.
Random Koreatown Galleria Haul, $35
I hadnt bought sheetmasks in ages and a friend of mine wanted some spray facial sunscreen so I went on the hunt. I tried to make moderate purchases as I am generally trying to reduce my sheetmask usage.
Random Daiso Haul, $30
Tbh I’m not sure what I bought but it was at the same time as the Little Tokyo haul
April 8: $74.50
Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream, $60
I also received this in one of the Sephora Favorites boxes and was really impressed with how a little went along way. Additionally no burning and I felt it helped with brightness as well.
SK-II Facial Treatment Mask, $17
Haven’t used this yet.
Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm SPF 25, $7.50
Curology, $40 (2 month supply)
Sephora Gift Card Use, –$50
May: $160
Kracie Naive Collagen Cleansing Wipes, $12
Great for travel and the pre routine to my routine. They came in a cute box and I believe have 30+ sheets.
Lush Cosmetics, $80 (includes a gift)
The Body Shop Cleansing Balm, $10
I was in a desperate situation whilst on vacation in the UK and needed an oil cleanser or balm so popped into the shops and got this after one of my friends recommended it. I love how it melts everything off and emulsifies well.
107 Coreflex Cream Essence, $57.60
